Paula and Ben who are very involved with sport in Oxfordshire were married in Steventon on Saturday 14th August. After the church ceremony, they invited sixty guests to their wedding reception at Fallowfields Country House Hotel. Unfortunately, the weather was not kind to them, with heavy rain, thunder and lightening. Paula and Ben were so positive that the weather would not spoil their wedding celebrations.
Paula phoned a couple of days later and said 'What a wonderful day' they had. What a great couple! The restaurant staff passed very good comments to me about the band Paula & Ben had booked for their evening entertainment. For anyone interested, they are called Suede Alien.
Dear Lynn,
Our wedding on Saturday 14th August.
Thank you so much to Fallowfields for such a smoothly run reception. James met us at the door, Rob was great serving as were the other waitresses. The extra Pimms went down extremely well too, as did the Falconry.
It was commented on by quite a few guests that the waiting staff were exceptional - polite & efficient so thank you and please pass this on.
We enjoyed the food as did the others, and Rebekah who cannot eat dairy was extremely impressed with the food, especially pudding!
The room was set out so smartly we thought it looked great, we really were so pleased. Everyone was relaxed and happy.
The evening food was very appreciated please say thank you to the kind person who put some evening food in our room later on - such a nice thought as i was hungry by then! Some tea was served at 1am in the morning and the cake brought out to some eager guests, again thank you so much for this.
My dad particularly liked the marquee as it meant he could sit and enjoy the music and dancing slightly more quietly but still absorb the atmosphere.
The band were excellent and enjoyed coaxing us to sing with them. I hope you can recommend them in the future. They said thank you so very much for the hospitality you showed them when they arrived.
We really enjoyed every minute of the day, it did rain but didnt affect us, we seemed to be able to dodge it. A rainbow came out and i hope you can see it in one of the pictures, as well as Fallowfields in the background et.
When we get photos (from Mario Mage) we will pass these on too.
Many thanks
Regards
Paula
