What our country house hotel conference venue does not have is a single ounce of commerciality. Yet, we have two delightful conference and meeting rooms frequently being used by Oxford based business for their off site meetings. They love it here because of its lack of commerciality, the willingness of the staff to do what the guest wants, when the guest wants it. “No problem” is our guiding principle. Great food that we are really proud of. Local produce, much from our own land. A quick relaxing stroll in the fresh air around the farm after lunch can help your delegates avoid falling asleep during that first presentation of the afternoon – the “graveyard pitch”.

One of the regular clients is Irun Business Intelligence – who have used us since December 2009 at least a couple of times a month. Their HQ is in Wantage, Oxfordshire. Steve Darnell, dynamic MD of this UK wide company says “as a specialist marketing business operating throughout the UK, IRUN organise hundreds of training days, workshops, conferences and seminars for groups of various sizes. Creating the right impression, delivery and delegate feedback is of paramount importance.
Find a good conference venue with accommodation is incredibly difficult, i.e. one that strikes the right balance in terms of accessibility, quality accommodation and excellent food whilst providing the right environment for the conference organiser.
Fallowfields Country House Hotel have excelled at every level candidate feedback is consistently and overwhelmingly positive. Our ‘clients’ love the accommodation, they adore the food and from the presenters perspective Fallowfields is a superb conference venue at which to deliver high quality training.
Over the years IRUN have become rather demanding and on those rare occasions when our plans change, Fallowfields staff could not have been more attentive when dealing with our requests in a prompt and even enthusiastic manner.
In my view, and I know this is shared by others in the IRUN team who present, the lunch served at Fallowfields is inevitably the high point of the day, if you don’t go there for anything else, you have to try Fallowfields buffet lunch.
Please convey a big thank you to all of your team. We look forward to hosting many more or our corporate events at Fallowfields in the months and years ahead”.
The first of two conference rooms is “The library” – in days gone by, that is just what use it was put to when this was a family country house. Now, the only books are those you bring as a conference guest. The room has its own log burning stove and, paintings and prints of aircraft like the Vulcan, which I flew in so many years ago. Despite the memorabilia, this is not a masculine room, largely due to the glorious sea green walls. Comfortable for around a dozen people.

The second conference room is the Wellingtonia. A large room, facing the gardens and grounds. Suitable for up to 20 conference style, theatre style around 60. Light, sunny, and with access to the awning and terrrace, it so versatile, as all areas can be used. Lunch will normally be served for your conference alone at the far end of this room. Meaning you are totally self contained but have an enourmous area and space available to you.
For those meetings with a business colleague or two, why not take coffee and one Audrey’s flapjacks in the drawing room….log fires in the winter……perfect.
