I have always loved Young’s beer and their hotel division is showing increased profits on last year.
The duty on strong beers [those above about 7.5 ABV] is to be raised around autumn 2010. Duty on beers with an ABV of less than 2.8% [is there such a beer worth drinking?] are to be reduced.
Sadly, that icon of my mispent youth, Balls Brothers has gone into administration. I used to Bobsled with David Balls – hi David if you are reading this. Good luck.
I know I am not 3 Michelin stars but wouldn’t you just love to be able to pay the £7000 that the Lanesborough is charging for a nine course taster menu? You can buy one of Heston’s Christmas puddings for a mere £70 on eBay! Am I in the wrong job?
